Corruption in the Government Starts with Me and You

We Filipinos despise corruption in the government.
During elections, this is a common sentiment.
But then corruption starts in all of us,
whenever our emotions get the better of us.
We follow the masses instead of thinking on our own.
We don’t give a chance to those who are capable but are lesser-known.
Having the right to choose our leaders is beautiful,
but if we don’t choose carefully it becomes remorseful.
Let us not be blinded by misleading ads and witty jingles.
Let us not exchange money with our principles.
On May 9 let us do our best to vote wisely,
so that corruption will not start with you and me.
