I Passed Two Board Examinations; Here’s How You Can Pass or Even Top Yours
I have two licenses; nurse and teacher. I took my Nurses’ Licensure Exam when I was four months pregnant with my first child and I took my Licensure Examination for Teachers when she was two years old.
These are the things that helped me pass both exams.
I aimed to top.
One of my reviewers said we should aim to top. According to him, if we aim to top and fall short, we will still pass. Whereas if we aim to just pass and fall short, we will fail.
I followed his advice and aimed to top. I didn’t top any of the exams. But I passed them both at first take with average grades of 80 and 88 respectively. Better than failing. And if this article will help even one reader top a board exam, then my ambitious goal will even be more meaningful.
I read and wrote a lot.
I didn’t read that much when I was a student. I would read my notes and handouts from my teachers but I didn’t really read my books. That changed when I was reviewing for the board exam. I wanted to read all my textbooks from cover to cover. I read most of the book Fundamentals of Nursing because it covered many topics.
